2009 Governor's Position Statement |
| Politics is only useful when we are honest. Whether liberal or conservative we cannot afford to act against our own intuition. It's easy to find people who are in politics for the wrong reasons: aquisition, attention, revenge. At some point every dishonest public figure made a judgement that didn't sit well with him or her, something cynical and contrary. Something which becomes a shame, something which has to be buried. Blagojevich certainly isn't happy to be the way he is. He carries himself like a defeated man. To avoid becoming him we have to ask ourselves why we take the positions we do. If we can answer, we must do it with confidence, and if we cannot, we must change immediately. If you've yourself in the eye and decided you're wrong but are still confident and won't change, you should probably not get into politics. |
